Hola !
A beautiful day again in New York City!
Today’s program: Chelsea and, especially, the High Line ! (The High Line is a former elevated track converted as hanging gardens where you can stroll. It goes through almost all of Chelsea along the Hudson River…)
We hadn’t had breakfast at home because I wanted pancakes (what? You’re in the US and you didn’t eat pancakes yet? Hello?!) so we thought we would surely find something to eat at the Chelsea Market.
Well, believe it or not, NO PANCAKES AT THE CHELSEA MARKET! Crazy… Anyway, we didn’t let ourselves starve or anything, we didn’t just give up on life after that, we stopped at Amy’s Bread where we picked up a couple of little things: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a cinnamon knot and a hot chocolate for me, and a sandwich egg/bacon/cheese, a sticky bun and a macchiato for Roxane… Let me tell you it was enough for the whole day!
So we went on the High Line to eat in the sun and start our stroll among the greenery and surrounded by the buildings and the city’s noises… It was absolutely beautiful and we took pictures every minute and a half! I’ll let you check it out…
We roamed the High Line from Chelsea Market to the North exit (where we stopped shortly at B&H), then we went back the other way where we exited in the heart of the Meatpacking District where we wandered among the super pretty, super chic brownstones.
Through our meandering, we walked up to Madison Square Garden, then Time Square where we took the subway to go home… Not to brag, but we walked a lot again today (around 15km according to Roxane’s phone, which apparently even stopped at some point…)
There you go for today’s article,
That’s all folks!
Kiss
Gabrielle
PS. As the cover picture is the piece of work « Moneybags » from artist Tom Otterness, it can be found at the 14th St/8th Ave subway station: you’re supposed to be lucky with money if you touch it…
PS2. I don’t know if American people have bison’s bladders or what, but there are toilets NOWHERE (hardly)… not even in Starbucks!
